Na jaren van afwezigheid, zijn ze er weer. De testen. Een test bestaat uit 20 meerkeuze vragen. Heeft u alle antwoorden aangeklikt, dan kunt u laten controleren, hoeveel vragen u goed en hoeveel vragen u fout beantwoord heeft, Uw antwoorden kunt u downloaden en eens rustig bekijken.

**De ontwikkeling van de testen**
Toen ik in 2008 mijn website lanceerde, liet ik de site en de onderhoudstools ontwikkelen door een gespecialiseerd bedrijf. Ze leverden uitstekend werk! Na verloop van tijd merkte ik echter dat het onderhoud en de hosting op hun server te kostbaar werd. Daarom besloot ik mijn website zelf te bouwen, wat ik uiteindelijk deed via Jouwweb. Het fijne aan dit platform is dat je geen kennis nodig hebt van HTML, PHP of andere technische zaken.
Op een nieuwsgierige maandagmorgen zat ik achter mijn laptop en was ik online bezig. Ik gebruik de browser van Microsoft, waarin Copilot is geïntegreerd. Uit interesse stelde ik Copilot een vraag: “Ik wil een quiz maken met meerkeuzevragen en maximaal drie antwoorden per vraag. Kun je hiervoor een HTML-code schrijven?”
Ik drukte op ENTER en wachtte ongeveer 30 seconden en daar was de code!
Met deze basis kon ik de quiz verder verfijnen: de juiste tekst en plaatsing van de knoppen, en zelfs een teller die bijhoudt hoe vaak de test is gemaakt. Tijdens het werken met Copilot viel het me op hoe natuurlijk de interactie voelt bijna alsof je samenwerkt met iemand die razendsnel typt en direct begrijpt wat je nodig hebt.
Deze ervaring was bijzonder en liet zien hoe goed AI zijn werk kan doen. Toch roept het bij mij ook vragen op. Met mijn achtergrond in de ICT vraag ik me af hoe deze technologie de toekomst van softwareontwikkeling zal beïnvloeden. Zullen softwareontwikkelaars uiteindelijk minder nodig zijn? Tegelijkertijd ontstaan er nieuwe rollen, zoals mensen die AI op de juiste manier aansturen door scherpe en effectieve vragen te stellen. Wat de toekomst brengt, zullen we zien!
**The Development of the Tests**
When I launched my website in 2008, I had the site and its maintenance tools developed by a specialized company. They delivered excellent work! However, over time I noticed that the maintenance and hosting on their server had become too costly. That’s why I decided to build my website myself, which I eventually did via Jouwweb. The great thing about this platform is that you don’t need any knowledge of HTML, PHP, or other technical matters.
On a curious Monday morning, I was sitting at my laptop and browsing online. I was using Microsoft’s browser, which has Copilot integrated. Out of interest, I asked Copilot a question: "I want to create a quiz with multiple-choice questions and up to three answers per question. Can you write an HTML code for that?" I hit ENTER, waited about 30 seconds, and there was the code!
With this foundation, I was able to further refine the quiz: setting the right text and placement of the buttons, and even adding a counter to track how many times the test has been taken. While working with Copilot, I noticed how natural the interaction felt—as if you were collaborating with someone who types incredibly fast and immediately understands what you need.
This experience was remarkable and demonstrated how well AI can perform its work. Still, it also raises questions for me. With my background in ICT, I wonder how this technology will influence the future of software development. Will software developers eventually become less necessary? At the same time, new roles are emerging, such as people who know how to steer AI correctly by asking sharp and effective questions. We’ll have to wait and see what the future brings!
